The Bath HarpThis is made from a Twyford Bathrooms steel bath that was kindly donated by Twyfords. There are 30 strings arranged in pairs made from 3 gauges of piano wire covering 2 octaves. A sound board has been bolted down through the bath rim and a sound hole cut out centrally to aid the sound projection. It is played in the near vertical position either with hammers or fingers. The sound is similar to a harp or a cimbalom. It could be called a 'cimbathalom'! |
